Week 4 Review

This fourth and final week of meditation my goal was to meditate for 20 minutes each day. I did it! Well, technically one day I only meditated for 19 minutes, but I’ll consider that close enough. I finally found a routine that is working for me. On the weekdays that I work from home I

When Trusting Jesus Isn’t Safe

If I truly trusted Jesus and was willing to follow Him anywhere, where would He ask me to go? Who would he ask me to tell about the gospel? Those questions scare me.

Trusting Jesus Frees You to Listen Well

Four years ago I attended the Stephen Ministry training class at our church. Stephen Ministry training equips you to provide confidential one-on-one support to another person who needs someone to walk alongside them for awhile. Since finishing that class I’ve served as a Stephen Minister and meet weekly with the person I’m assigned to. One

Whenever this happens inevitably something gets dropped from my schedule because I’m not superwoman and I just can’t do it all. So I’ve only meditated once in the

Week 2 Review

This second week of meditation my goal was to be asleep by 10:30pm each day so I could wake up at 5:30am and meditate for 20 minutes before my son wakes up. That happened a grand total of 0 times. I realized if I really want to accomplish that goal then I need a better plan

Clear Expectations

I've been curious to see if meditation will help me to be more mindful and maintain better focus during these times of the month. At the very least right now it's helping me to recognize what's happening sooner. Normally I don't recognize my forgetfulness, irritability, and lack of focus until it's pointed out to me.

Letting Jesus Carry the Small Hurts

As we headed into the bathroom at Starbucks I slammed two of my fingers in the ridiculously heavy bathroom door. The pain was intense and I was trying to cope and not scare my son at the same time.
