28 Days to Read the Whole Bible

For the month of October my 28 day experiment will be reading the entire Bible. When I finished my meditation experiment in August I had a strong desire to spend more time in God’s word. My plan for September was to read my Bible more regularly as I experimented with no sugar and no caffeine.

Genesis & Exodus

Since I’ll be spending most of my free time reading the Bible this month my blog posts will be shorter. I’m only going to report on what I’ve read and my overall impressions. What I Read Day 1: Genesis Day 2: Exodus My Impressions God is in control and all blessings come from Him. God

Leviticus & Numbers

What I Read Day 3: Leviticus and Numbers 1-18 Day 4: Numbers 19-36 and Deuteronomy 1-11 My Impressions God is holy and takes our sin very seriously. The people who were proud and acted out of their own strength or wisdom were quickly brought down and shown to be foolish. (Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu; Korah, Dathan and Abiram) God

2 Samuel, 1 & 2 Kings

What I Read Day 7: 2 Samuel and 1 Kings Day 8: 2 Kings and 1 Chronicles 1-9 My Impressions When God departs from Saul he becomes incredibly insecure and troubled. King David stands out among all the kings as the one who truly loved God and sought after Him with his whole heart. It was frustrating

Psalms

What I Read Day 13: Psalms 18-72 Day 14: Psalms 73-150 At this point I’m a day behind my original plan. I don’t think this is a big deal though since I’m exactly half way through 28 days and a little over half way through the Bible. My Impressions I found myself singing many of

Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, & Isaiah

What I Read Day 15: Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs Day 16: Isaiah My Impressions We are fooling ourselves if we do anything apart from God, if we place our trust in anyone or anything other than God, or being prideful we forget God or think we don’t need Him. Reading Proverbs and Ecclesiastes back

Jeremiah, Lamentations, & Ezekiel

What I Read Day 17: Jeremiah and Lamentations Day 18: Ezekiel 1-23 My Impressions God hates rebellion and injustice. Everything and everyone is under God’s control and at the same time we are all responsible for our actions.  God used Babylon for His purposes and they were still responsible for doing evil. Each person is
