Jeremiah, Lamentations, & Ezekiel
28 DAYS TO READ THE WHOLE BIBLE: PART 10
What I Read
Day 17: Jeremiah and Lamentations
Day 18: Ezekiel 1-23
My Impressions
- God hates rebellion and injustice.
- Everything and everyone is under God’s control and at the same time we are all responsible for our actions. God used Babylon for His purposes and they were still responsible for doing evil.
- Each person is judged for their own actions.
- God forgives those who turn away from doing evil.
- Even though God knows that His people will not listen to Him He still continues to send prophet after prophet to warn them and to plead with them to turn back to Him.
“Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways,” says the Lord God. “Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!” (Ezekiel 18:30-32)
